An agreement with German Institute to teach German in Kurdistan
The Ministry of Education in KRG agreed with the German Institute (Gota) to include the German language tentatively in the curriculum of some typical schools in the region.
The Iraq Program Officer at the Germanic Institute, Irina Dolz, said "The institute agreed with the Ministry of Education in the government of the region to teach German language in some typical schools in Erbil, Dohuk and Sulaymaniyah in coordination and cooperation with the German Language Department at the Faculty of Languages, University of Baghdad."
She explained, "The agreement will be applied on the second semester of the current academic year which begins at the beginning of the year 2008 and will include a number of typical schools to expand, respectively."
It should be noted that the Gota Institute, which carries the name of a great German philosopher and artist, works as a cultural center with several offices in various cities of the world.
